While we don’t diagnose, we can help monitor changes in your skin’s appearance and support early detection. Stay informed, stay safe.
Because we see our clients regularly and up close, we are often able to notice subtle changes they might miss. This can include documenting areas of concern and taking photos to monitor any changes over time.
One of the tools we use for observation is the ABCDE guideline for skin changes:
A – Asymmetry: one half does not match the other
B – Border: irregular, jagged or blurred edges
C – Color: uneven tones such as brown, black, red, white or blue
D – Diameter: larger than 6mm (about the size of a pencil eraser), but not limited to
E – Evolving: any change in size, shape, color or sensation
We may also notice new growths or lesions, sores that do not heal, sudden pigmentation changes, or areas of redness, scaling or bleeding.
Our mission is to offer preventative care for our clients. Early detection of skin concerns, including melanoma, squamous cell carcinoma or basal cell carcinoma, can significantly improve the outcome and course of treatment.
